Rework by Jason Fried

front-cover This is a fun business how-to book; yes, that was fun and business in the same sentence.   This book offers quirky, silly, and even useful business advice.  The subject “Hire when it hurts” asks if you lose someone, should you replace them immediately?  The answer is no, find out why.  Under “You don’t create a culture” it shows how culture is the by-product of consistent behavior, “like fine scotch, you’ve got to give it time to develop.”  The book quotes Henry Ford, “If I’d listened to customers, I’d have given them a faster horse.” The point is to say “no” by default; it is easy to be overly optimistic.  “You rarely regret saying no, but you often regret saying yes.”  Oh my, I can really relate to that one!

This is an easy to read, fun to read, quick to read, read.  Read it!
